Do you want to buy a home but just don't think you can come up with the downpayment and closing costs? There are many assistance programs available to the buyer. It takes a little more work sometimes because of the requirements (i.e. paperwork, phone calls, required classes, etc) but if you want a home and don't have the money then these programs are worth the effort. All of the programs have some requirements or conditions that have to be met by the buyer. It is just a matter of finding out those and seeing if your situation is a match. Some require you to be a first time buyer or there maybe set income levels at which you would qualify. Here are some of the programs that you might qualify for -
TexasRealEstate.com This site is sponsored by Texas Realtors and has several programs available to homebuyers that need assistance in buying a home. Some of the programs are
HousingProgram.orgThis is a downpayment assistance. You do not have to be a first time buyer. Income limits do apply and there are limits on the price of the home.
Bank of Texas Mortgage GroupZero Down Homeward Bound 2006 is a special financing package with no down payment required. Income limit applies. Property must be primary residence. 103% LTV financing, no PMI.
FHA
FHA has a site that lists multiple downpayment assistance programs at this site. You will need to visit each site to determine if you meet their requirements and what procedures are required to obtain the assistance.
